Harry Jimenez, Retired HSI Deputy Special Agent in Charge is a thirty-one-year law enforcement veteran who began his career with the U.S. Customs Service Caribbean Air and Marine Branch in Puerto Rico. He has held numerous leadership positions in law enforcement throughout his career. Jimenez most recently served as the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office Chief of Community Readiness and Intelligence Division, responsible for the Investigative and Intelligence support of the Criminal Gang and Transnational Criminal Organizations Investigations Unit, advancing Criminal Intelligence by compiling, analyzing, and disseminating information to anticipate and prevent criminal activity. He also oversaw the Court Security Services Unit, responsible for the safety and security of more than sixty judges and magistrates in six different buildings and more than three million visitors annually. The Court Security Services Complex serves twenty-eight municipalities, including San Antonio, and seven military installations in Bexar County.

Prior to his appointment as BCSO Chief, Mr. Jimenez served as Deputy Special Agent in Charge, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), San Antonio, Texas.  Chief Jimenez supervised the wide range of HSI investigative authorities and responsibilities to combat transnational criminal organizations illegally exploiting travel, trade, financial, and immigration systems. His investigative expertise includes: Money Laundering/Bulk Cash Smuggling/Money Service Brokers; Narcotics Smuggling/Trafficking; Commercial Trade and Fraud; Human Smuggling/Trafficking; Transnational and Anti-Gang Enforcement; Weapons Smuggling; Export Enforcement; Intellectual Property Rights; Cyber Crimes/Child Sexual Exploitation; and Critical Infrastructure Protection. Chief Jimenez had direct oversight of criminal investigations over fifty-eight counties, two Federal Judicial Districts, and over 550 miles of international border between Mexico and the United States, with responsibility for some of the busiest and most challenging ports of entry into this country.

Jimenez is a Certified Instructor of the Texas State University Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) in the following areas:

– Active Threat Integrated Response Course

– Active Shooter Level I

– Breaching

– Exterior Response to Active Shooter Events

– Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events

– Plain Clothes Response to Violent Encounters
